The external AI can then query your ERP data, view records, and perform searches without leaving your usual work tool. <\/p>\n<hr>\n<h2>1. What is MCP?<\/h2>\n<p>MCP is a standard protocol that allows AI clients to connect to tool servers. Kafinea exposes an MCP server that provides secure access to ERP data, respecting the access rights of the connected user. <\/p>\n<hr>\n<h2>2. Access the Configuration Page<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Log in to Kafinea<\/li>\n<li>Go to <strong>My Preferences<\/strong> (user menu in the top right)<\/li>\n<li>Click the <strong>MCP Configuration (External AI)<\/strong> button<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The page displays your personal credentials and ready-to-copy JSON configurations for each supported AI client.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<h2>3. Your Credentials<\/h2>\n<p>The configuration page displays three essential pieces of information:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Access Point (URL)<\/strong>: the address of your Kafinea instance&#8217;s MCP server<\/li>\n<li><strong>Username<\/strong>: your Kafinea identifier<\/li>\n<li><strong>Access Key<\/strong>: your personal access key<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote class=\"bq-important\">\n<p><strong>Important:<\/strong> Never share your access key. Security<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Each user has their own access key<\/li>\n<li>MCP requests respect user access rights<\/li>\n<li>Never publish the JSON configuration in a public repository<\/li>\n<li>If your access key is compromised, generate a new one from My Preferences<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr>\n<h2>FAQ<\/h2>\n<p><strong>My access key has changed, what should I do?<\/strong><br \/>\nReturn to the MCP Configuration page and copy the configuration again with the new key.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The AI client cannot connect<\/strong><br \/>\nVerify that the access point URL is correct and accessible from your workstation.
