Introduction<\/h2>\n

Kafinea\u2019s global search<\/strong> lets you quickly find any record across all modules: customers, invoices, products, contacts, etc. It is accessible from the search bar at the top of the interface. <\/p>\n

1. Using global search<\/h2>\n

Enter a term in the search bar at the top of the screen. Kafinea searches across all enabled modules and displays results grouped by module. <\/p>\n

The search covers the main fields of each module: name, number, email, phone, reference, etc.<\/p>\n

Good to know<\/strong>: The search starts as soon as you enter a few characters. Results appear in real time below the search bar. <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

2. Configuring the modules to search<\/h2>\n

An administrator can configure which modules are included in global search. This makes it possible to exclude rarely searched modules to improve the relevance of results. <\/p>\n

The configuration is accessible via Settings > Global search<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n

3. Frequently asked questions<\/h2>\n

The search cannot find a record\u2014why?<\/strong>
\nCheck that the relevant module is included in global search. Also check that you are searching on an indexed field (name, number, email). Description or comment fields are not always included in the search. <\/p>\n

Can I search by invoice number?<\/strong>
\nYes, document numbers (invoices, quotes, orders) are included in global search. Enter the full or partial number to find the document. <\/p>\n

Is search sensitive to access rights?<\/strong>
\nYes, global search respects the user\u2019s access rights. Only records the user has access to appear in the results. <\/p>\n
