This information is used in particular for SEPA direct debits, supplier transfers, and bank reconciliation. The module can be accessed via <em><strong>Finance &gt; Third-party bank accounts<\/strong><\/em>.  <\/p>\n<hr>\n<h2>1. Create a third-party bank account<\/h2>\n<p>You can create a third-party bank account in two ways:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>From the module list<\/strong>: <em><strong>Finance &gt; Third-party bank accounts<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<li><strong>From a customer or supplier record<\/strong>: <em><strong>Bank accounts<\/strong><\/em> tab, <em><strong>Add<\/strong><\/em> button<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Information to enter:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Bank account of<\/strong>: the customer or supplier who holds the account (required)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Name<\/strong>: a label to identify the account<\/li>\n<li><strong>IBAN<\/strong>: the account\u2019s IBAN number<\/li>\n<li><strong>BIC<\/strong>: the bank\u2019s BIC\/SWIFT code<\/li>\n<li><strong>Account holder<\/strong>: the holder\u2019s name as it appears on the bank account<\/li>\n<li><strong>Default bank account<\/strong>: tick this option to use this account by default for automatic direct debits<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Accounting:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Accounting account number<\/strong>: the chart of accounts account associated with this third party<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote>\n<p><strong>Good to know<\/strong>: The same customer or supplier can have several bank accounts recorded. The account marked \u201cdefault\u201d will be automatically selected when creating a SEPA direct debit. <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<hr>\n<h2>2. Balance information<\/h2>\n<p>For accounts connected via a banking API, Kafinea can display:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Balance<\/strong>: the account\u2019s current balance<\/li>\n<li><strong>Upcoming<\/strong>: pending transactions<\/li>\n<li><strong>Last update<\/strong>: the date of the last synchronisation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr>\n<h2>3. Frequently asked questions<\/h2>\n<p><strong>What is the difference between a bank account and a third-party bank account?<\/strong><br \/>\nThe <em><strong>Bank accounts<\/strong><\/em> module manages your own company\u2019s accounts. The <em><strong>Third-party bank accounts<\/strong><\/em> module manages your customers\u2019 and suppliers\u2019 accounts. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Is the third-party bank account required to create a direct debit?<\/strong><br \/>\nYes, a SEPA mandate requires a third-party bank account with a valid IBAN.
