The <strong>SIREN<\/strong> (9 digits) corresponds to the first 9 characters of the SIRET. <\/li>\n<li>The <strong>intra-community VAT number<\/strong> is automatically calculated from the SIREN, then verified via the VIES service.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Modification After Pre-filling<\/h3>\n<p>All fields remain <strong>editable<\/strong> after pre-filling. You can manually adjust the values if necessary before saving the record. <\/p>\n<hr>\n<h2>4. Error Handling<\/h2>\n<h3>No Results Found<\/h3>\n<p>If the search returns no results:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A message displays: <em>&#8220;No results found. You can enter the information manually.&#8221;<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Close the wizard and fill in the record manually<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Tips to improve the search:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Check the spelling of the company name<\/li>\n<li>Try with the SIREN or SIRET number if you know it<\/li>\n<li>Use the postal code filter to reduce results<\/li>\n<li>Simplify the search name (for example, <em>&#8220;Dupont&#8221;<\/em> instead of <em>&#8220;\u00c9tablissements Dupont et Fils SAS&#8221;<\/em>)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>External Service Unavailable<\/h3>\n<p>If the search service is temporarily unavailable:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>An error message displays<\/li>\n<li>Close the wizard and enter the information manually<\/li>\n<li>Try again later if you wish to use the search<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Too Many Requests<\/h3>\n<p>If you perform too many searches in a short time:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A message prompts you to wait a few moments<\/li>\n<li>Wait a moment then try again<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr>\n<h2>5. Frequently Asked Questions<\/h2>\n<h3>The feature is not available, I do not see the button<\/h3>\n<p>Verify that the <strong>Company search<\/strong> feature is enabled:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Go to <em>Main menu &gt; Configuration &gt; Module management &gt; Features<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Verify that the <strong>Company search<\/strong> option is enabled<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>If the option does not appear, contact your administrator.<\/p>\n<h3>Can I use this feature for foreign companies?<\/h3>\n<p>No, V1 of this feature is limited to <strong>French companies<\/strong>. The registers consulted are the official French registers (Company Search API). Multi-country support may be added in a future version.  <\/p>\n<h3>Is the displayed VAT number reliable?<\/h3>\n<p>The intra-community VAT number is <strong>automatically calculated<\/strong> from the SIREN according to the official French formula. It is then <strong>verified via the European VIES service<\/strong>. If VIES confirms validity, the number is reliable. If VIES is unavailable or invalidates the number, manual verification may be necessary.   <\/p>\n<h3>What happens if I select a closed company?<\/h3>\n<p>A warning informs you that the company is no longer active, but the selection is <strong>not blocked<\/strong>. This can be useful for creating a historical record or for a supplier with whom you have pending invoices. <\/p>\n<h3>Is data overwritten automatically?<\/h3>\n<p>No. The system never silently replaces data: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You always preview changes before applying them<\/li>\n<li>Fields where the official value is empty are not cleared (unless you explicitly check the box)<\/li>\n<li>You must click <strong>Confirm and apply<\/strong> to validate<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Can I cancel after applying the data?<\/h3>\n<p>The data is injected into the form but not yet saved. If you wish to cancel: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Before saving<\/strong>: reload the page without saving<\/li>\n<li><strong>After saving<\/strong>: manually modify the relevant fields<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>A SIRET duplicate was detected, what should I do?<\/h3>\n<p>If the system detects that a Customer or Supplier with the same SIRET already exists:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Click <strong>View existing record<\/strong> to verify if it is indeed a duplicate<\/li>\n<li>If it is a real duplicate, click <strong>Cancel<\/strong> and use the existing record<\/li>\n<li>If it is not a duplicate (for example, a different establishment of the same company), click <strong>Continue anyway<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Can the AI assistant also search for a company?<\/h3>\n<p>Yes. The AI assistant integrated into Kafinea has a <strong>Company search<\/strong> tool that allows it to search for a company by name, SIREN or SIRET and return official information.
