Introduction #
The Workplaces module allows you to define workstations or work locations within your sites. A workplace is linked to a site and can be assigned to one or more people. It can be accessed via Human Resources > Workplaces.
1. Create a workplace #
Click on Add a workplace from the module list or from the Workplaces tab of a site.
Information to provide:
- Name: the name of the workplace (required), e.g., “Office 201,” “North Workshop,” “Reception Desk”
- Site: the site to which this workplace is assigned (required)
2. Usage #
The workplace is used in the record (field Workplace) to indicate where each employee usually works. This allows you to:
- Quickly locate an employee
- Organize teams by physical location
- Simplify workspace management

What is the difference between a site and a workplace?
A site refers to a building or a physical address. A workplace is a subdivision within a site: an office, a workshop, or a floor. A site can contain multiple workplaces.
Can an employee have multiple work locations?
The "Work Location" field on the record is a single field. If an employee works at multiple sites, specify their primary work location.
