Introduction #
The Services module in the catalog allows you to manage the intangible services you sell or buy: consulting, maintenance, training, subscriptions, etc. Unlike products, services are not stockable and do not impact inventory management. The module is accessible via Catalog > Services.
1. Create a service #
Click on Add a service from the module list.
Main information:
- Service name: the designation of the service (required)
- Reference: an internal code to identify the service
- Category: the family to which the service belongs
- Sales price: the unit rate
- Unit of use: the invoicing unit (hour, day, flat rate, month…)
- Active: indicates if the service is available for sale
Note: To properly configure taxes on your services (VAT categories, tax regions, other taxes), consult the article Tax configuration.
2. Use in documents #
Services can be added to the detail lines of commercial documents:
- Quotes and Purchase orders: to quote a service
- Invoices: to invoice a completed service
- Credit notes: to cancel or correct service invoicing
Good to know: When adding a service to a document, the sales price is automatically pre-filled. You can modify it for each line if necessary.

4. Frequently asked questions #
Can I mix products and services in the same quote?
Yes, the detail lines of a document can contain both products and services.
Do services appear in stock reports?
No, services do not impact stocks and do not appear in valuation or stock movement reports.
