Introduction #
The Services module in the catalog allows you to manage the intangible services you sell or purchase: consulting, maintenance, training, subscriptions, etc. Unlike products, services are not stockable and do not affect inventory management. The module is accessible via Catalog > Services.
1. Create a service #
Click on Add a service from the module list.
Key information:
- Service name: the name of the service (required)
- Reference: an internal code used to identify the service
- Category: the family to which the service belongs
- Selling price: unit price
- Unit of use: invoicing unit invoicing hour, day, flat rate, month, etc.)
- Active: indicates whether the service is available for purchase
2. Use in documents #
Services can be added to the line items in sales documents:
- Quotes and Purchase Orders: To Provide a Quote for a Service
- Invoices: To invoice a completed service
- Credits: To cancel or correct a invoicing
Good to know: When you add a service to a document, the sales price is automatically filled in. You can edit it for each line if necessary.
3. Difference between a product and a service #

Can I include both products and services in the same quote?
Yes, the line items in a document can include both products and services.
Do services appear in inventory reports?
No, services do not affect inventory levels and do not appear in valuation or inventory movement reports.
