Introduction #
The Cash Registers module allows you to manage the registers installed in your points of sale. Each register is configured with its display, printing, and pricing settings. The module is accessible via Points of sale > Cash registers.
1. Create a Cash Register #
Click on Add a register from the module list.
General Information:
- Name: the name of the register (required)
- Number: the register identifier
- Technical user: the user account associated with the register
Register Status:
- Information about the current status of the register (open, closed, current balance)
Settings:
- Configuration of register behaviors (accepted payment methods, rounding, etc.)
Print Settings:
- Configuration of register receipts (format, information to print)
Price Settings:
- Configuration of price display (including tax, excluding tax, decimals)
Color Settings:
- Customization of the register’s visual interface

2. Usage #
Kafinea’s cash register allows you to:
- Process sales at physical points of sale
- Manage payment methods: cash, credit card, check, etc.
- Print register receipts compliant with regulations
- Track register movements: cash float, withdrawals, receipts
3. Regulatory Compliance #
Important: In France, cash register software must comply with data inalterability, security, retention, and archiving requirements (anti-VAT fraud law). Kafinea is designed to meet these requirements.
4. Frequently asked questions #
Can I have multiple registers in the same point of sale?
Yes, a point of sale can have multiple cash registers, each with its own configuration.
How do I open and close the register?
The register is opened at the start of the day with the entry of the cash float. It is closed at the end of the day with counting and reconciliation.
Do register sales generate invoices?
Yes, each register sale generates a receipt or an invoice depending on the configuration, with the required legal information.
