Introduction #
The Points of Sale module allows you to manage your physical retail locations: shops, stores, counters, etc. Each point of sale is linked to a location and can be associated with cash registers. It is accessible via Points of Sale > Points of Sale.
1. Create a store #
Click on Add a point of sale from the module list.
Information to provide:
- Name: The name of the store (required)
- Code: a short identification code
- Location: the physical location to which the point of sale is assigned
- Type: the type of retail location
- Version: the POS system version
- Last sync: the date of the last data synchronization
2. Links to websites #
A store is linked to a location via the designated field. For a location to appear as a store, the option Sales Locations must be checked in the record (see Storage Sites).
3. Related items #
From record store record , you can access:
- Cash registers: the cash registers installed at this location
- Cash transactions: transaction history

What is the difference between a retail location and an e-commerce store ?
A retail location is a physical store with cash registers. An e-commerce store is an online sales channel. Both are managed separately in Kafinea.
How do I sync data between the point of sale and Kafinea?
Synchronization is automatic. The field Last Sync field shows the date of the last data exchange.
