Introduction #

Kafinea lets you send bulk emails and text messages as part of marketing campaigns. This page explains how to set up and launch a campaign.


1. Prerequisites #

Before launching an email or SMS campaign:

  • SMTP configuration: The outgoing mail server must be configured (see SMTP Settings)
  • Targets: Recipients must be added to the campaign (prospects, contacts, or customer accounts)
  • Email template: An email template must be prepared with the message content

2. Set up an email campaign #

  1. Create or open an existing campaign
  2. Add the targets from the dedicated tab
  3. Select the email template you want to use
  4. Check the message preview
  5. Start sending

Important: In accordance with the GDPR, please ensure that your recipients have given their consent to receive marketing communications. Each email must include an unsubscribe link.


3. Set up an SMS campaign #

It works similarly to email campaigns:

  1. Create an SMS campaign
  2. Add contacts with valid phone numbers
  3. Write your text message (be mindful of the character limit)
  4. Start sending

Good to know: To send text messages, you need to set up an SMS provider that is compatible with Kafinea.


4. Tracking shipments #

After sending, the status of each target is updated:

  • Sent: The message has been sent
  • Error: The message could not be sent (invalid address, full inbox, etc.)

5. Frequently Asked Questions #

How many recipients can I target per campaign?
There is no limit in Kafinea, but your SMTP or SMS provider may impose sending quotas. Check with your provider to see what their limits are.

How can I prevent my emails from being marked as spam?
Use an authenticated sender address (with SPF, DKIM, and DMARC configured for your domain), personalize the content, and avoid words that trigger spam filters.

Can I schedule a shipment for a later date?
You can use the Kafinea scheduler to schedule a shipment to be sent at the desired date and time.
