Introduction #
The "Employee Portal" card is a customizable mini-card that appears in the user menu (at the top right of the interface). It helps promote access to the employee extranet among back-office users.
Access to settings #
- Sign in as an administrator
- Go to Settings โ EXTRANET โ Configuration
- Scroll down to the "Collaborator Area" section
Configuration fields #
Display the map in the user menu #
- Type: Checkbox (Yes/No)
- Description: Enables or disables the map display in the user menu
- Default: Off
URL of the collaborator portal #
- Type: Read-only field
- Description: Displays the extranet URL configured for your instance
- Note: This URL is defined in the system configuration (PORTAL_URL) and cannot be changed here
Card Title #
- Type: Text (max 50 characters)
- Description: The title displayed at the top of the map
- Default value :
- EN: "Employee Portal"

Description #
- Type: Text box (max 300 characters)
- Description: The explanatory text displayed on the map. Line breaks are preserved.
- Default value :
- EN: "Manage my account, absences, and personal information."
- EN: "Manage my activity, my absences, and my personal information."
Button text #
- Type: Text (max 30 characters)
- Description: The text of the call-to-action (CTA) button
- Default value :
- EN: "Access"

Tooltip text #
- Type: Text (max 100 characters)
- Description: The text displayed when the mouse hovers over the action button
- Default value :
- EN: "Open in the collaborator space"
- EN: "Opens in the employee portal"
Multilingual behavior #
If you leave the Title, Description, Button Text, and Tooltip Text fields blank, the system will automatically use the translated default values based on each user's language.
Recommendation: For the best multilingual experience, leave the fields blank and use the default values.
If you customize the text, it will be displayed as is for all users, regardless of their language.
Tip: If you want to customize the text while maintaining a multilingual experience (different text depending on the userโs language), you can use Kafineaโs translation feature to change the default values. Go to Menu โ Configuration โ Settings โ Module Management โ Languages & Translations to customize the labels for each language.

Display Settings #
The map is displayed only if:
- The "Show Map" option is enabled
- The extranet URL (PORTAL_URL) is configured and not empty
Security #
- The entered text is automatically cleaned up (HTML tags are removed)
- The URL is validated to prevent JavaScript injections
- The link opens in a new tab with the appropriate security settings (
target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer")
Overview #
The map appears in the user menu, right after the user's information (name, avatar, role) and before the "My Preferences" link.
