Introduction #
The Stock Transfer Requests module allows you to manage the movement of goods between two storage locations within your company. It is accessible via Inventory Management > Stock Transfer Requests.
This module is useful for:
- Transfer inventory between two locations (e.g., from a central warehouse to a branch)
- Reorganize inventory within the same facility (e.g., from a storage area to a picking area)
- Document internal transfers in writing
1. Create a transfer request #
Click on Add Transfer Request from the module list.
General information:
- Subject: A brief description of the transfer
- Transfer request date: the date of the transfer
- Status: the status of the request
- Starting point: the original storage location
- Destination: the target storage location
Product lines:
- Add the items to be transferred along with the desired quantities
- Each line can include a comment
Logistics:
- Total weight: the weight of all items to be transferred
- invoicing shipping address information, if necessary
Good to know: When a transfer request is approved, inventory movements are automatically generated to track the movement of items between the two locations.
2. Tracking quantities #
For each product line, the system tracks:

| Quantity ordered | The amount requested in the transfer |
| Quantity already received | The amount actually transferred |
| Still to be received | The remaining quantity |
This allows you to handle partial transfers when the entire requested quantity is not immediately available.

What is the difference between a transfer request and a stock movement?
A transfer request is the management document that formally records the need to move inventory. Stock movements are the technical entries automatically generated when this request is approved.
Can I transfer inventory between two different locations?
Yes, simply select a source location at one site and a destination location at another site. The system automatically handles the inter-site transfer.
How do I handle a partial transfer?
If you can only transfer part of the requested quantities, tracking the quantities (ordered / received / remaining) allows you to monitor progress and complete the transfer at a later time.
