Introduction #
Kafinea’s global search feature allows you to quickly find any record across all modules: customers, invoices, products, contacts, etc. It is accessible via the search bar at the top of the interface.
1. Use the global search #
Enter a term in the search bar at the top of the screen. Kafinea searches all active modules and displays the results grouped by module.
The search covers the main fields in each module: name, number, email, phone number, reference, etc.
Good to know: The search begins as soon as you type a few characters. The results appear in real time below the search bar.
2. Configure the desired modules #
An administrator can configure which modules are included in the global search. This allows modules that are rarely searched for to be excluded, thereby improving the relevance of the results.
The settings can be accessed via Settings > Global Search.
3. Frequently Asked Questions #
The search isn't finding any records. Why?
Make sure the relevant module is included in the global search. Also make sure you're searching an indexed field (name, number, email). Description or comment fields aren't always included in the search.
Can I search by invoice number invoice
Yes, document numbers (invoices, quotes, orders) are included in the global search. Enter the full or partial number to find the document.
Does the search take access rights into account?
Yes, the global search respects the user’s access rights. Only records to which the user has access appear in the results.
