Introduction #
The event log records significant actions and events that occur in Kafinea: automatic operations, errors, system notifications, etc. It can be accessed via Tools > Event Log.
This log is a diagnostic and traceability tool intended for administrators.
1. Journal contents #
Each log entry contains:
- Number: a unique identifier for the event
- Message: Event description
- Metadata: additional technical information (relevant module, record ID, context, etc.)
2. Usage #
The event log is useful for:
- Troubleshoot issues: identify errors that occurred during automated processes (workflows, synchronizations, imports)
- Track operations: verify that an automated action has been successfully executed
- Monitor system activity: view the system event log
Good to know: The event log is different from the record modification history. The modification history can be viewed from each record the View Historybutton.
3. Frequently Asked Questions #
Is the log purged automatically?
The purging behavior depends on your instance's configuration. Older events may be automatically deleted to limit the size of the database.
Who can view the log?
Access to the event log is generally restricted to administrators, depending on the access rights configuration.
